Trademark agent examination

I have a question. I have read somewhere that before entering private trademark practice, one has to serve four years or more as a IPAB trademark examiner. What is the job responsibility of IPAB trademark examiner? If one gets selected in the Trademark Agent Examination, will he automatically posted as IPAB trademark examiner?
