Let's Crack Judiciary   09 July 2020

To provide publicly own Bank A/C no and IFSC code is safe?

To provide publicly own Bank A/C no and IFSC code is safe?

Quick Summary
This discussion explores the safety of sharing bank account numbers and IFSC codes publicly. While there's no widespread reported misuse of this information alone, criminals are becoming more sophisticated. The context and necessity for sharing these details are crucial factors to consider, as risks may vary depending on individual circumstances and the purpose of the disclosure.

@ Let's Crack Judiciary,

What do you intend to communicate qua your bank account and/or IFS Code is vague and ambigous, if there is any problem / dispute ?

Otherwise, the experts (including myself) may not intend to crack judiciary as nomenclature adopted by you..

Now criminals are becoming smarter, and it is not safe to tell whether such transactions are safe, but till now there is no case of misuse/abuse/fraud with knowledge of account no.  and IFSC code.  (Some raised objections in AADHAR  and crediting of Gas subsidy, -cases against demanding that information is subjudice- but in welfare schemes, it is clarified that providing those particulars are mandatory).   For a common man, there is no risk because he can not even maintain a minimum balance and for rich, there is no such necessity.

What are tha facts? What is the context in which your account particulars is required to be in the public domain?
