What is the difference between Chargesheet and Case - Diary? If a judge asks for Case Diary, and the Chargesheet has not yet been filed, how will it hamper the proceedings?

Charge sheet is filed u/s 173 of CrPC. Case diary is the diary maintained by the Investigation officer while investigating. Judge can ask for case diary. It will not hamper proceedings.

The court can verify the progress of investigation by perusing the case diary. Meanwhile the investigation can be continued.
