Status quo

I am constructing a new building.. I have encroached balcony on a 7 feet road between me and my neighbor.. he already constructed his house by encroaching 2 to 3 feet of the street.. now he is obstructing me not to construct balcony.. and also filed a suit that I am encroaching the street and his property.. court says to maintain status quo.. will status quo applicable for the balcony or the entire building..?
