Service Tax on Machining Jobs on labour basis

I am doing machining jobs and shot blasting of intermediary products for a manufacturer who finally clear the product after payment of excise duty. Please guide whether Service Tax is applicable on the activities carried out by me?

you need not pay S.TAX, since the  burden has been  taken over  by the principal  supplier of raw  materials . In this context please see the exemption notification No. 8/2005. -S. Tax dated 01.3.2005. moreover  if the goods are covered  by the Cenvat Credit Rules, exemption is  inherited in it . Also please go through central excise exemption notification NO. 214/86
