If the assessee is a trader, he has to maintain books of accounts and get them audited as prescribed u/s 44AA and 44AB. He has to maintain seperate account for securities held on trading account and securities held on investment account.
The veracity o transaction can be made from the Demat Account, bank statement, ledger account in the books of broker and broker notes.
