Retreiving documents from mumbai high court -urgent help pls

I am seeking learned advice to retrieve original documents deposited in Mumbai High Court. The case has been resolved but we did not apply to collect the original documents back.

Does the High Court destroy the orignal documents? Is there a time frame they keep the documents? Is there a procedure to confirm if these documents exists and to claim them

The lawyer who handled our case is retired and closed his practice.

Learned attorneys with experience in this matter with High Court please respond as soon as possible. Greatfully appreciated

Obtain certified copy of the documents and replace them with originals through your lawyer.

high court does not destroy documents. they keep records of the documents.

just apply to the high court for orginal document showing reason for your delay and they will give you the certified copies of your original document.

It is presumed that the request has to be together with a copy of directions of the court.

You may first apply for certified copy of the documents held in the court, file a petition to replace the same and seek return of original documents.  You need not take the help of an advocate, you may visit the office of the concerned court and get the job done as a party in person.
