Renting out a flat in a co-operative society

I wish to know the answer to the following question.

Question : Can a co-operative society pass a resolution by majority ( not unanimous) that the members cannot rent their flats to bachelors? And will such a resolution be binding on the members who want to rent out the flat to bachelors? Does it not infringe upon the rights of the individual owner member to rent his flat to anyone as long as it does not create any nuisance to the society?

I would be glad to get a reply soon. Our society is in Pune and comes under Maharashtra co-opertaive housing Society Act.
