regarding family partition

I am 21 yrs old and i am a engineering student.I want to get separated from my family(my father,mother and brother)as i feel very uncomfortable with them.Can i demand a share of my father's and mother's property.IF YES,then what is the legal procedure of partition.If i want to send leal notice to them,then wat procedure do i have to follow ?

You can claim only ancestral property not the property self acquired by your parents.

if it is not an ancestral property, the owners have all the right to use it the way they want to.
