Re-development of rented building

Dear Sir/s,

A friend recently informed me that few years back Bombay High Court ordered that the tennent/s can do all the repair works (also demolish the structure and rebuild it) without any consent from the landlord, if the tennent has occupied the property for more than 20 years.

Is anybody aware of such judgement? Can you please post link to the judgement or email it to me?

Hoping for your kind co-operation in the matter.

Regards

Prasham

Sir,

There is no such judgment and no Court of Law can undermine the ownership rights of a Landlord, no matter how long the tenants have been living in the rented premises.

Good Luck,

Kishor Mehta

Well said by expert Mr. Kishor Mehta. You have been misguided by someone without knowing the position of law involved in this.  There is no such judgement  so far.
