I am from PUne but I have a property in Chennai, the house which was written in my name by my late mother , thru her mother. I have 2 siblings who also have properties in their names. Is PROBATION necessary in the event I need to sell the property or retain it. I get to hear that it is mandatory for Chennai, Mumbai and Kolkata. If yes, what is tha rate to be paid to the court. Is it on the Guideline value or the market value of the property and how long does the procedure take. Is it possible that this can be overlooked. If probabtion can be done does it have to be done by all the siblings or no ? I am sitting here and not knowing what needs to be done and how to get started. Please guide me on this issue so that some clear picture can be got. Thanks.
