Plot transfer

Hi All,

My Father owned a plot in Bhopal. The plot is registered in his name. Last year he passed away. We are 4 members in our family now, Mother, my younger sister, my wife and me. My mother and sister have willingly agreed to transfer the plot to my name. The Plot is in a society. My father was member of the society.

What are the legal proceeding for transferring the property to my name. How much amount will i have to pay for the whole process. Do society have any role in the Tranfer.

Kindly help me on this matter.I'm new to legal matters. It would be helpful if you please explain in Detail.

Thanking you in Advance.

FIRST YOU HAVE TO OBTAIN A LEGAL HEIR CERTIFICATE/ SUCCESSION CERTIFICATE STATING THAT YOU, YOUR MOTHER AND YOUR SISTER ARE THE LEGAL HEIRS OF YOUR FATHER.

THEN YOUR MOTHER AND SISTER HAVE TO EXECUTE A RELINQUISHING DEED RELINQUISHING  THEIR SHARES OF THE PROPERTY IN YOUR FAVOUR.. THIS IS TO BE EXECUTED IN A  SUB REGISTRAR OFFICE OF YOUR AREA.

THEN  YOU HAVE TO SUBMIT THE DOCUMENTS TO SOCIETY FOR NAME CHANGE AND AL SO TO MUNCIPAL,   ELECTRICITY, WATER BOARD ETC.

AS YOUR FATHER WAS A MEMBER OF THE SOCIETY, GUIDE LINES OF THE SOCIETY  WILL PLAY A ROLE.

REGARDING THE EXPENDITURE  INVOLVED  I ADVISE YOU TO CONTACT LOCAL SUB REGISTRAR OFFICE WHO FIX THE STAMP DUTY  ,DEPENDING ON THE VALUATION OF THE PLOT.
