hello
i was appointed in 2009 in a leading psu as assistant personnel officer in scale of 8000-13400(pre revised).however within a month of joining my minimum basic of 8000 was refixed to 10750 with other conditions being the same.this higher start was given to me as per the policy of the organisation.so from the start of the joining month my basic was 10750 instead of 8000.after the pay revision in the organisation the scale 8000-13400 has been revised to 20600-46500.after the revision my basic has been again fixed at minimum of the scale i.e, 20600 which is corresponding to 8000 of the pre revised scale.now the company is not giving me the basic corresponding to 10750 which is 24900 in the revised scale.after querries the management answers that it is the policy of the corporation and they cannot share the reason why they gave 10750 at the time of joining.i want to know that is it possible to decrease the basic pay of any employee in this way.whatever the reason may be if the company has given a basic pay before revision should be the corresponding basic in the new scale.should i make a case against the company.please suggest.as it is the start of my career i dont want to lack behind and need direction in this case
