Old widowed mother position

Mother-in-law is above 70 and could not look after her of her own for food or even clothing. Till this time her all children looked after her. with the Father -in-law died without leaving any will, now after 25 years after his death the childrens wanted to divide the property. the question is that (1)  whether all the children eqaually divided the property and look after the aged mother-in-law in routine or the mother-in-law can be given her share and be left alone. Till this time the mother-in-law took advantage of all the children and when it was about to be partitioned she wants to give to one child. The rest of children do not have faith on the one the mother-in-law willing to give her share as the past attitude of that particular child gives that kind of impression; (2)  Whether there is any age limit restriction for a widow to be given share and left alone as she is infirm as faras to look after her. Even after partitionince the mother-in-law acquired property from her husband and not aquired by her, could be construed as inherirted property in which the grand children shall have rights of share. Please suggest with relevant court verdict or relevant section for filing the case.
