I am residing in Mumbai on Rent for 4 months since 01-Apr-2011 to 31-July-2011 and then I purchased the flat on 01-August-2011 till date.
I have applied for a passport.
I need the NOC from my society on top of Rent agreement.
My society has provided the NOC from Aug-2011, they say we cannot provide for the RENT period. The police inspector keeps insisting that he needs the letter and cannot proceed without that. With the current letter my stay is less then one year and so it want get materialised.
The police is not accepting bank statement and is keen to get the letter.
My QN is -
1. Is it right that the society can deny the letter for rented period. ?
2. Is it right that letter is mandatory for police, without this thet cannot proceed. ?
Please guide me.
