I have purchased a site from a party, they are saying that this site was alloted to them on 1956 by the muncipality, but no record is not with us,now they are saying that they have paid the taxes since 1956, they have got the possession for more than 50 years hence they are tha real owners, is this is true

Yes. But to be safer side you can get that order copy regarding grant of the land. Let them to take it from the govt.,
