The Meters and Instruments v. Kanchanbagh (2017) ruling has not been overruled. It was later clarified by the Supreme Court in M/s Bridgestone India Pvt. Ltd. v. Inderpal Singh (2020), which reaffirmed the principles on jurisdiction under Section 138 NI Act. So the 2017 judgment still stands, with clarifications—not an overruling.
