Maintenance and welfare of parents and senior citizens act, 2007

I am a USA Citizen since 2008 and Living in USA since 1997. Is Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 is applicble for USA Citizens.

Quick Summary
This discussion explores whether the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, is applicable to US citizens. While the act outlines child maintenance obligations, its extraterritorial reach for non-Indian citizens is questioned. The conversation also includes a strong rebuke towards an individual questioning their parental obligations.

As per the said act the children are liable to pay maintenance amount to their parents.

The citizenship status may not alter the law.
