Loc removal

As part of a false 498a package, the IO asked for a copy of my passport when I had gone to the police station with AB in hand (and surety). After bail paperwork, she mentioned I had a LOC against me. I am an NRI.

Now, I am not sure if this is an extortion tactic or not. Trying to confirm this using higher ups has given no results.

Please help answer a couple of questions:

1. How do I confirm if there is indeed a LOC against me?

2. If I am on AB already with travel restrictions and attending court and no warrant against me, is the LOC illegal, or is it left to IO or DCP discretion?

3. Can I go to lower court or HC to get it removed? Does it automatically get lifted with stay on proceedings via quash?
