Is my job in danger?

I gave the written exam for the post of material assistant under 16FAD Indian army in december 2016. It was too good and i got the offer of appointment letter in october 2017 and was asked to submit my original documnets untill police verification. Now all the verification process is completed. But when i called them to know about further process they said that the recruitment has expired and they will write a letter to NCS or NES something something for further process. I am unable to get it. Does. It. Mean that my recruitment is delayed or it has permanently expired? I had high hopes on this job
