The deceased died as hindu even though he had faith on christianity, so hindu sucession act will applies in your case. So defenitly the mother fo the deceased will get equal share with other class I heirs.

"took Christian faith" created the confusion. The person was born a Hindu and died a Hindu. During his life time, he might have professed any religion. That is not germane to the question.
