How to remove akari padit or name of sarkar jama from 7/12 ?

My father has a land which had his name in the 7/12 extract till year 2003 but later on the 7/12 extract show the name of akari padit on asking the Talathi he answered that the land has been Sarkar Jama as we failed to pay land tax according to him (I know we failed to pay land tax) . My father wants to sell the land but the title does not contain his name so the land also cannot be transfered or sold . Legal procedure suggested was to send a application to the collector regarding it but it will take time period upto 1 or 2 years Could you suggest me different faster legal way to remove akari padit or governments name from 7/12 extract
