How to establish that one is a legal heir

you have to move an application for opting legal heir certificate in the tehsildars office providing full details of the deceased (attach death certificate as proof )and address ( attach address proof) and show your relation with the deceased ( attached proof , and affidavit in support of your claim on oath ) , the tehsildar mark the application to the patwari of your area to make an enquiry in your matter , patwari will come to your address and do his enquiry about the facts which you have given in your application and submit his report before the tehsildar ,and on behalf of that report tehsildar issue the legal heir certificate after endorsed his signature and rubber seal on it .
