I have resignined and has got releiveing date letter. as i Joined different company There was my senior who had to done a business, but some 8 lakhs was not recovered by the client with whom he had done the business. On the last day of his retirement my senior told that i will be following up the payment. But the client was not cooperating with me, hence i was unable to follow up that amount. Meanwhile i was given a different responsibility, later after some moths i resigned to the Job as i got other offer. My HR one day called me to tell that my settlement cheque has been prepared, to collect it in the office. I was in different town so i thought of collecting in the weekend. Now when i went to collect the cheque i am told that as that 8 lakh amount is not collected, gratuity and other settlements are held. Is this legal that my Gratuity is being held , as its my seniors responsibility to collect the dues, just i agreed that if the client gives the amount i will collect!...Now is there anyway to get this Gratuity amount without company interference?
