Gst registration

Hello Everyone , I have a small firm , Sole Proprietorship. I want to register for GST but the real problem comes here , as I had never renewed the Gumasta for last three years . And I went to renew it . Now its getting me more cost than there is a way to get a new gumasta and than apply for GST . So I request anyone can suggest me , can I request for a GST on New Gumasta ???
