Govt employees asked to travel only by Air India

Govt employees asked to travel only by Air India

In an effort to shore up revenue streams for Air India, the finance ministry on Monday ordered all central government employees to fly only on the state-owned flag carrier for their official travel—both domestic and international.

Is this not unfair trade practice? Your comments here.....

well in my opinion yes it is......

THIS IS MY PERCEPTION, with an example.

CRITERIA : Ownership of Property (Car (Air India)   AND   own family (paid staff)
property means Car alias Air India
OWN family means  family members alias own staff

eg.
ABC owns a Maruti car.  He directs his family to use the family owned car for travelling purpose and not use the civic Bus service or the public / private Taxi service or the train service.

In other words, ABC does not wish to use other conveyance vehicle except his own car, which rightfully saves (gains) him money BUT not cause gains to the Bus / Taxi operator.

It also means that if ABC (who may be a poor villager) does not use his own car or never uses Bus or Taxi or Train.  THEN it cannot be said that the Bus or Taxi or Train operator is put into wrongful loss or wrongful loss of gain FOR NON-USAGE OF bus / taxi / train.

Govt.owns Air India.
Govt is the master of all Public servants / staff.
Govt. can direct its servants / staff to use only Govt. property, thereby NOT causing loss to Govt. property. Specially so "by not causing wrongful gain" to other airlines, when in context to "wrong loss" of its own property.
Govt. has NOT directed or say RESTRICTED non-public servants / staff (that is local corporates, public) to use ONLY Air India.

ANYWAY the "sovereign" has exclusive rights to its own property and own people (staff)  and over the general public too.   Anything can be acquired by the "sovereign" (even your own house, the 100/- rupee note in your own pocket),  without being answerable to anyone.
