Gift deed

Hello, We have a relative who is an American citizen and she sent us a release deed 2 months ago relinquishing her rights on an immovable property without consideration. Now she is in need of financial assistance we wish to send her some money in USD as a gift and sign a gift deed. We wish to know is this the right way to do it in the above scenario. Kindly advice.
