I moved into a rented accomodation 7 months back and i paid a rent of 21,000 rs with an initial deposit of 2,10,000.The house was in bad shape and we asked the landlord to get it painted before we move in. Now that we are shifting she is making false allegations that we permitted her to cut the 21k from the advance. the house is about 2000sqft and the maximum expenses she would have incurred is 10,000. The clause in the agreement says that we have the option of getting the damages fixed if any while vacating or allow the landlord to cut 1 months rent.She says the painters were appointed by us which is quite shocking as we havent even met them.she also demands that we have to get the house painted according to her choice of colours and quality of paint.
Your help and suggestions would be deeply appreciated regarding recovery of advance and wether its is wise to get a stay order or compensate. thank you
