Kindly advise if I can apply for a short validity passport with validity of more than 1 or 2 years while an NDPS case is pending . Also , I am trying to work in gulf or Asia . Will such a passport allow me to get employed there .

If criminal case is pending you cannot leave the jurisdiction of the court.

NDPS? least likely court may allow.

court may allow,if you can convince the court that you will not abscond..If there is no prohibitory order from any court restricting your movement out of the country, there is no reason why you cannot travel abroad. Mere pendency of a criminal case is not a restriction for applying for passport or travelling abroad.
