Setting up a music studio

Hi This is Vetri from Chennai.

I have plans to start up a Music studio and undertake Media works. Kindly enlighten me on the Legal formalities associated with this kind of start up?

Assumptions:

1. I may partner with a person in setting up the business.

2. I may want to employ technicians.

Thanks in Advance.

HI,

First of all Congrats for setting up your own business.

I myself owns a studio in Mumbai.

Now, as a Studio comes in the Service Industry, you will have to pay Service Tax.

You will need to a Gomastha License for your studio.

You will need to take a Fire Insurance.

You will have to buy original Studio Softwares.

these are some of the measures you should take before setting up a studio.

Thanx & Regards

Hello Puneeth,

Thank you so much for your insights on this subject. I am running a search on them.

I Couldnt find much details about the "Gomastha License". Could you please elaborate, why I would need that?

Does registering the name of the studio come under this one?

and I Wish you all the success in your studio business buddy!

Regards,

Vetri

Hi, Gomastha License is an essential factor for running any business. it doesnt matter if u have a studio or a provisional store. Gomastha is mandatory. U can apply for it from local Mahanagarpalika. Will cost u around 3500 for it. u will have to renew it every year. it is kind of a license to carry out ur own business. hope the info is helpful.. take care thanx & regards Puneet Bachchan
