FNF recovery amount demand by employer

I hv worked for 20 months in one bpo, but due to personal problem, i was not able to serve notice period, and they absconded me, now when i request them to put date of exit on UAN epfo portal, they are refusing and asking for recovery amount stating its a company policy.what should i do. kindly help

but nothing in detail is mentioned in appt letter about consequences of not serving notice period

if that is the case then the Management cannot demand notice pay from you. Issue legal notice first

yesterday registered grievance
today recieved email stating - : The estt has been contacted and directed to update the date of exit
Therefore, we are closing your grievance from this office.Please quote the same in your future correspondence
