domestic violance

What happens when a woman complians to  the Naional Womens Commsion about  her allegedly abusive and violent husband? Who is the invesigating agency in that case? Does NWC has  power to investigate and refer the matter to  Sessions court for granting relief to her  and punish the erring husband. Is NWC/CWC are  toothless organizaions having no powers to grant any relief to the wife and to punish the husband?

Can the wife implicate her in laws in DV case,  who have  already disowned their son including his wife ( DIL)  on account of their misdeeds,  misconduct, harassment,  abnormally aggressive behavior etc?

In my opinion NWC  can make only enquiry, it cannot refer to the court.  As per DV act if a woman filed a complaint before the protection officer such oficer can make an enquiry and he/she can refer the case to the court.

Wife can file a complaint against the in laws also, but  now a days DV act is misutiliazing.
