DISCHARGE PETITION

Hey Friends...

What is a Discharge Peittion ? Why is a Discharge petition filed ? is there any format mentioned in amy of the Laws with respect to the contents of the Petition ? can s Discharge petition be filed only if the law under which it is being filed gives the right or power to file such a petition?

if ur query in relation a criminal case, discharge petition being filled for discharge from any aledge offence or specific alegations.

HI...

This is with respect to an offence under Companies Act prosecuted against the COmpany in the Economic offence court, Chennai. Is it like we need to file a discharge petition to ask the court to take cognizance of an offence compounded by the Company Law Board for which prosecution is charged by the Respondent in the Economic offences court??
