Daughters right in parent's property

My Mother was born in a Hindu family. she along with her 3 brothers and 2 sisters inherited a property from her father . Now there is a flat on that land where the woman members have a share of 800 sq.ft. and men 1200 sq.ft. My uncles told her that woman's equal rights to parental property is a law applicable for woman married after 1989 .They told this and got a sign in the agreement . Is that so ? If it is not can I file a suit against that ?

Thanking you in advance for your help

Post 1995 ( succession Act) Daughters have equal right over parental property....The year of marriage is not a constraint...

The signature holds no value, no binding contract can be based on it..

Hindu female has absolute right  to seek partition wholly occupied by joint family. Female heir has a right in property of her father/mother who has died intestate is equal to her brother."
