not valid old cheques.

First fill up the cheque and present it.  Let the Banker give a return memo, and depending on such reason you may take guidance.  As it may not be a MICR cheque , request your Bank for sending to paying banker directly as Local Cheque for Collection.  Let the paying banker decide it.

Your cheque is non cts. There is a special clearing arrangement for non cts cheques. Try lodging your cheque through this. However, Before presenting the cheque ensure that it is not stalw i.e. date of cheque is not older than 3 months.

Is the cheque signed, but blank and undated?

Dr J C Vashista (Advocate)     06 November 2018

Just wait for another 10 years so that banking regulation may get reversed and the cheque held with you may be considered for payment.

A cheque's life is six months.

But, how, because the cheque has no date, to prove the cheque is six-month old?

Forensic laboratory can prove this.

There is presumption that the cheque is drawn on the date that was stated on instrument.  Now the cheque is valid from 3 months from the date of the issue.  Forensic tests etc are superflous and never so far used in any cheque bouncing case like in ordinary criminal cases.  No more guidance can be provided on simple matters wherein you have to write the cheque yourself and ask the bank to present it directly to the paying banker (not through clearing), and if it is returned , depending on such reason contact advocate for further guidance.  Do it immediately before some thing happens to the drawer or yourself making the instrument useless than piece of waste paper.  Now it is already a waste paper and you are just making efforts as to whether you can bring any life to already brain dead.
