Steps to Convert Cab Registration to Private in Gujarat Obtain NOC from Maharashtra RTO You’ll need a No Objection Certificate (Form 28) from the original RTO where the vehicle was registered.

 Also get a tax clearance certificate and ensure there are no pending dues.

De-register Commercial Use Apply to the Maharashtra RTO to cancel the commercial (cab) registration.

Submit documents showing the vehicle is no longer used for commercial purposes. 

Re-register in Gujarat Submit Form FT and Form 27 at the Gujarat RTO. 

Provide the original RC, NOC, insurance, PUC, address proof, and identity proof. 

Pay applicable road tax and registration fees. Apply for Private Use Classification Request the Gujarat RTO to register the vehicle under private use. 

The vehicle will be inspected to ensure it meets private vehicle standards. 

Pay Conversion Tax Gujarat RTO may charge a conversion tax or re-registration fee. If the vehicle is older than 8 years, the tax may be reduced to 1% or ₹100, whichever is higher.
