I live in kolkata and am looking to buy a plot of land in west bengal. However, I have the documents provided by the counter-party. I know that i will have to take them to the land registry office in the district the land falls in. My question is: if i take the document to the office then will the clerks there verify and confirm the details and let me know the same. Will i have to first put in applications and then wait for a few days and pay repeated visits. Can someone please guide me through the process. As trivial as this may sound, i think any discussion and posting of useful info on this topic will be useful for all members.
