Breaking engagement

Respected sir/madam Sir/ madam, I had broke my engagement which was happend on 14 th Feb because after engagement only I talk to girl and after that I realised I can't adjust with her for my whole life ( as so many things happened during these 2 months) Now party from girl side want to file a case against my family for false dowry case or other related cases, we had not taken any amount of money from girls family. family from girl side they demanded huge amount of money from us for not filing case in the court. They also harassing us by saying police will arrest you and police will take action Our native place is Pune and for Job purpose we shifted from Pune to Nashik, and party from girl side is proper from Nashik please advice me on this issue, as we are facing lot of difficulties , I am CA student and I am also working in finance department in a company
