Transfer of flat and transfer of shares

My parents jointly owned a flat in Mumbai and had nominated me and my brother in equal ratio.  Both my parents passed away and according nomination registered with the co-opertive society, they have transferred the shares in joint name of me and my brother.  Do I need to also get the agreement of ownership of flat [sales deed with which the flat was purchase by my parents] changed to me and my brother's name?  Would it be considered as a new registration?  Do we need to pay the stamp-duty?

No, you no need to make any sales Deed or no need to pay stamp duty.

you need to update your name in record of society and revenue record by said will.
