ID Proof

I and family have decided to on for a vacation & I have already booked flight  tickets also,  but my my problem is I have an ID proof but my wife still does not hold any ID proof for other reasons might be due to her parents negligence as she from a village side , we got married four years ago. July was the last date for the enrollment for election ID card & i could not follow as i was little bit busy at the same time. Plz anyone suggest me temporarily how to get any ID proof legally for my onward journeys as i have already booked tickets. Plz advice me as soon as possible in details because there is only 9 days left for my journey

You file an application to the concerned election office of  your city to enter your wife's name elctrol roll.  And on vacation where you are going, withing india then ID is not a problem, if out side india then there must be a passport in your wife's name.

But as i contacted the tour operator they said they said ID proof is compulsory for both of them .

Yatin,

One option though may be costly one is applying for "immediate" Passport.

Another is applying for  " immediate" Postal Identity Card.

India Post gives an address proof card ,very quickly, taking Rs.600/700/- only, valid everywhere. For "immediate" delivery they take perhaps more money.
