File letter under RTI Act.
You can file petition asking for Status Report as well from the Magistrate if the Police registers an FIR.

Normally the police will register FIR for all the theft cases, which are having insurance coverage, if the value is over Rs.10,000/-. Because the insurance companies insist for FIR for vehicle insurance claim.

So, in your case also the police would have registered FIR. Approach them to give a non traceable report. Non traceable report is not necessary for the theft claim. Insurance company ought to honour your claim, within 90 days of your claim.

Other wise go for a consumer case against the insurance company.
