Account has been locked as guarantor

Hello sir ,
I'm guarantor for other persons account. He is unable to pay his loan for 6 years in urban cooperative bank and bank has locked my account. What should i hav to do ? I can't withdraw my money. And bank didn't take any action against him .

Move to the bank (lender), repay outstanding amount and get your account "unlocked".

The question is, can the bank, or a lender, can unilaterally invoke the liability of guarantor on the alleged ground that that the borrower has failed to pay his loan. In considered view, it is a question of fact whether the borrower has failed to discharge his obligation. This is question to be decided in a judicial or quasi-judicial proceedings. Then and then only, the guarantee could be invoked. As such, the action of the Bank in locking your account appears to be highhanded.
