Hi there.we have been fghting a case to get my brothers daughter custody and she has been living with us since 9 years now.
My Brother died 4 years ago and before that my sister in law actually put dowrey case on my brother and on my mother which is no longer current as my brother died. We won't the custody rights at Dehradun court , her mother applealed in the high court but we won again and we have got the custody for the girl. Her mother left coming seeing her since 2 years and our lawyer ask abrupt amount to get the final documents to us which I guess we have already won . We need help

You can yourself apply and obtain certified copies of the final order/judgment/decree from all the courts by applying in the prescribed application form, pay the prescribed fee and receive these for your records. No layer required for this job and need not get blackmailed by your lawyer. The fee for the complete case of professional lawyer includes the certified copies of the various orders/judgments/decrees but if you engaged some cheap lawyer who now look for extra amount then be careful for future make the things clear before engaging the lawyer and paying him fee for the job.

The Lawyer is trying to be unprofessional. He cannot demand any further fees, unless there is some amount is outstanding.
