Dear Sir, During my visit to my hometown in UP, I hv to sign blank A4 sheets of paper & give it to a local advocate for filing an affidavit & application to court for enrollment of my name in the property as my father has passed away. (In UP I have ancesteral property house jointly in the name of my father & his brothers). Can these blank signed A4 white papersbe used against me.?? I asked the lawyer to return those papers, he has told me that they are destroyed. PL advise. Thanks Kumar N

You may request the the Lawyer to confirm the same in writing; else, you can convey in writing to the lawyer what he has informed you and seek confirmation.

If you do not have full faith in your lawyer ask to return the sheets.
Yes these sheets can be misused.

If you do not trust the lawyer better have another lawyer to protect your interest and get written confirmation of the blank signed paper (which you are not supposed to give) destroyed/lost and if found will be handed over to you immediately. It is also not used for any other purpose.

If at all you are more worried about the Blank Papers signed send a Lawyer Notice to the Concerned Advocate requesting him to return the blank papers signed and Publish an Public Notice in local News Paper in detail to whom it had been given and not returned and if any one misuses the same would be facing Legal Proceedings Etc.Consult another Local Good advocate.
