My cousin got married on 28 April 2016 After returning bride came up along with her 3 sisters usually brother use to come. They all four were sitting in a room with door closed a kind of privacy they want. We can feel something is going between them. When someone enter in that room her sisters say this or that person will not come in this room. She said she can't live here she want to shift and live in rented house. And same day at mid night she call her brother and they all get back to their house. while going they openly threatening. I wasn't there at that time otherwise i have definetly recorded their false threatening. This scenario was shocking for us 3 of my relatives were fainted. Someone told us that his brother has already written complaint against bride's sister in law. They are threatening my relatives. We are waiting for her return as they promised that she will be back. But she keep on saying that she want to live outside give us money for our room. My relative can't afford. My cousin is also staying with her in her house. I am concerned that she may complaint 498a in future What to do?

What I strongly feel is that she want to control house as she said that my husband have no reputation. My cousin is not educated. On a first day of marriage she said that Her sister in law should get married now. I mean it clearly show inferiority complex. My cousin (her sister in law )is the only person who look after all house hold work because she is only educated among rest of the family members. So obviously she will look after the house as my aunt is widow and uneducated.

One cannot stop lodging complaint u/s 498A IPC.
However of there is constant threat on this account you can complain with local police.
Once the case is filed you have to get bail and contest on merit.

Police under instruction to make thorough investigation in respect of complaints under 498A; arrests needs to be authorized by the SP of the Distinct. There is nothing to bother if you conduct is blameless.

She is still staying in her parents house saying that she will live away in rented house. As she repeatedly saying that her sister in law is having full control over house. I mean how can she say like that in one day when house was crowded with guests, it wasn't a normal day.
As she is not living there from first day can she still accuse my relative for beating her and file 498a

Law is towards women.
Take help of relatives, common friends, society people for amicable solution.
Recording of such threats may not be fully helping.
Even mutual Consent divorce would take minimum one and half year.

What I think is that we shouldn't allow her in home. Because if once she enter there will be a fear in my relatives mind as she already revealed her intentions. So she may falsely accused them for beating , dowery .
And let them live away anywhere they want.
And here we will evict my cousin from property , each and everything for our future saftey. Because today she is saying that she will live away with my cousin but in future she may accuse them for property and try to influence my cousin and force him to ask his share. (House belong to my aunty.)
Will this going to help? it is just my opinion.

Yes, it may help as there is no foolproof measures to avoid 498A case.

Yes sir after reading various article about 498a I know that there is no foolproof measures against this.
They came today and I have recorded their conversation for evidence what all they said while talking with us. They said that their daughter is ready to live outside.
But if she enter in house I am even ready to install CCTV cameras in each room as i am too much alert now may be she do selfharm.

the act of relatives ( sisters and brother of bride) is also covered under domestic violence and the mother of groom can take pro-active action.
In case the family of bride lodges any false complaint under 498A contest it in court.
