Withdrawal of divorce petition

(Querist) 30 May 2015 This query is : Resolved
Petitioner being the wife filed a petition for desolution of marriage .

The respondent remains ex-parte.

The decree was passed.

At this stage can the petitioner withdraw the petition for divorce ?
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 30 May 2015
After decree of divorce there is no existence of any petition . So where is the question of withdrawal of the same?
Dr J C Vashista (Expert) 01 June 2015
The petition stands decided/decreed and case closed for the petitioner.
In that eventuality how the petitioner can seek withdrawal? Prima facie it is an academic query.
SAINATH DEVALLA (Expert) 01 June 2015
Both the above experts have given correct replies, nothing more to add for an academic query.
