Im chandhrasekar born in chennai D.O.B 28.08.1991 in my birth certificate my mother name is jayashree i wanna change it into bhuvaneswari because there is no record or proofs in the name of jayashree except in my mom's marriage invitation and my birth certificate and in all her records its only bhuvaneswari so i need to change my mother's name in my birth certificate to correct name as in records please help me on this issue

devajyoti sir.. today only i signed up in this website. im just normal citizen who is frustrated to get a passport and stuck up in all document submission and name correction and no one to help

Name in birth certificate can not be changed now but you can get an affidavit done now.

Meet the Municipal Authorities to correct the mistake or insert both names as alias. Complete any formality suggested by them. If they do not agree court order is procedure which may take 1-2 years or more.

It will not be possible to correct the name in the birth register held by the authority, one registered, only court has powers to make any correction in the register for births and deaths. Hence, as suggested, an affidavit duly notarised stating that both the names belong t the same person will solve the issue, if not you have to file a declaratory suit before a civil court to get the problem solved.
