Giving power of attorney on my behalf while the case is running

(Querist) 16 April 2014 This query is : Resolved
Hi,
I am the petitioner in a civil recovery case. So far we filed evidence affidavit and waiting for cross examination. After this, I would like appoint some one on my behalf through proper Power of Attorney to attend the court, as I would be travelling. Is it possible? How far I would be responsible for all things done by this Attorney, other than the outcome of this case?

Thanks in advance.

you can give specific power of attorney for handling this case only , to enter into compromise , to file affidavits , applications , replies , to engage advocates .

Since the case has been filed and proceedings are going on, your lawyer can look after your interest, however it would be better if you give POA (specific) to some reliable person of yours.

Yes, give special power of attorney for specified purposes only not a general POA.

As you have filed the proof affidavit and waiting for cross examination. You have to complete the cross examination.

After this there wont be much need for for your presence. So, there wont be any need for the SPA.
