Dilatory pleas are those which delays a cause to move and are generally raised by defendant in answer to plaint version,such as challenging cause of action,incapacity to sue,want of pecuniary or territorial jurisdiction of court,in nutshell raising and preliminary issues to be decided first before trial and evidence.
