If the duplicate copies are issued by the competent authority, it will be treated at par with original.

yes, duplicates issued by the competent authorities are as good as the original for all purpose.
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 01 January 2012
There shall not be any difference but it shall be better if the copies of your application and the covering letter of university are kept intact for future reference if some one shows any doubt thereon.

THAT MEANS YOU DOUBT A FRAUD educational documents : SEND FOR VERIFICATION.
prabhakar singh (Expert) 01 January 2012
DUPLICATES ARE MARKED AS DUPLICATE.WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY A LOOK,LOOK OF ORIGINAL ISSUED A DECADE BACK ONE AT PRESENT SHALL ALSO BE FOUND DIFFERENT.
Deepak Nair (Expert) 02 January 2012
Normally, duplicate certificates appear different from the original certificates. It will be stamped as duplicate and in many cases, it will be hand-written.
Duplicate certificates are as valid as the original ones.
In case of a government job, they verfy the contents of the certificate and not the appearance. So, not to worry.
